GUARDIANS

Acrylic, Oil & Ink on Canvas
Sides Painted Black
(Framing Optional But Not Required)
30" X 48" X 1.5"

There's an ethereal quality to nature's balancing act, an indescribable force standing guard over our environment. Perhaps this guardianship is responsible for the way in which the earth miraculously heals itself, despite man's doings in the world...

FATHOM

Acrylic & Oil Pastel on Canvas
Installed within a black floater frame
60" X 48" X 1.5"

We use the word “fathom” to measure the depth of water, but also as way to express comprehension of a thing. Tidal pool water reflects a world within a world, with every crevice brimming with color and life, seemingly unaware of anything outside its sheltered reality. Little to measure in terms of depth perhaps, but to comprehend such a profound and mesmerizing feature, a thing of philosophy indeed.

I came upon her in the deepest woods...surrounded by living green, her stance unwavering and rooted to the ground, although she no longer had any. Utterly feminine, a force to be reckoned with. She wasn't going anywhere...

HE

Oil on Canvas

30" X 40" X 1.5"

A swagger in his posture, I fell instantly in love with him, his confidence and virility an irrefutable fact. An entranced state made invisible the truth of sharp and thorny barbs. Not even the hazards of love would deter me from a path I knew I would take.

THE BARE BONES OF IT

Acrylic & Oil on Canvas
Installed within a black floater frame

In the quiet hours, there are moments of realization about the simplicity of things. The hustle and bustle of the day dissolves into memory, and we feel our shoulders relax a little...our breath deepening and lengthening in time with the shortening of the day. And there it is - another day ending. But did we stop to notice the color of its passing?

THE BIG GAME THEORY

Acrylic, Mixed Papers & Ink on Wood
Sides Painted Black
(Framing Not Required)
80" X 28" X 1.5"

Complex ideas such as "The Big Bang Theory" are commonly discussed and generally understood, but only fundamentally grasped by specialists - not the common man. Similarly, the notion of economy and wealth are fleeting concepts brokered by the elite on Wall Street and Capitol Hill. In these difficult times, as Boardwalk and Park Place crumble, ensnaring many, the middle class keeps drawing cards from a hopelessly stacked deck. They cling to their lives on Illinois or St. James Place, hopeful that their street of dreams is real and not simply part of The Big Game.
